Authorities say they have spoken to a "person of interest" in their investigation into the graffiti that defaced two columns and a war memorial at the Capitol in downtown Lansing.
No arrest has been made yet, but a state police spokesperson says they have talked to a man and may bring charges soon. Lansing Community College police and Lansing police have also been key to this investigation. Similar vandalism was discovered on campus and on buildings downtown Thursday morning.
Blue spray paint depicting stick figures was scrawled onto two columns columns at the main entrance to the Capitol. Also painted was the War Memorial on the Capitol grounds that stated "Give art a chance." A maintenance crew has had a tough time removing the paint, and the damage amount to thousands of dollars in cleaning and repairs.
