LANSING, MI The Capital Area Humane Society is pleased to announce that 946 lives were saved during the PEACE LOVE ADOPT campaign which ran during the months of June, July and August!

The effort represents a 29% increase in adoptions over adoptions during the same months in 2011. CAHS celebrated the “adoption option” through a marketing campaign, a special event named Woofstock and adoption discounts.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the results”, commented Julia Palmer, President and CEO for the Capital Area Humane Society. “It is a little known fact that only 25% of Americans choose a shelter pet.  The campaign is evidence that more can be done to increase awareness and get these animals into loving homes”.

The Capital Area Humane Society would like to specially thank Soldan’s Feeds & Pet Supplies for sponsoring the PEACE-LOVE-ADOPT campaign.
