Police have released the names of both victims of a plane crash that occurred Saturday morning near Brighton.
The pilot of the aircraft has been identified as 79-year-old Walter Davenport of Brighton. He was injured in the crash and is currently hospitalized at University of Michigan Hospital.
The passenger, 56-year-old Ana Ortega, a citizen of Costa Rica, was declared deceased at the crash scene.
Police say both were in the plane when it crashed into a swampy area in Brighton Township shortly after takeoff.
