2 Armed Robberies of QD's in Lansing Monday AM
LANSING - Two Quality Dairy convenience stores in the city of Lansing are robbed early Monday morning, and police say there's a good chance the same couple committed both crimes.
The first robbery took place shortly after 4 o'clock at the QD in the 500 block of E. Saginaw Street. A woman with reddish-blond hair and a black, hooded sweatshirt entered the store asking for cigarettes. She then told the clerk she had a weapon. The woman took some money and left. She got into a waiting car, driven by a white male with a brown beard and white tank top shirt.
The next robbery of a Quality Dairy took place at about 5:30AM, several blocks to the south in the 400 block of S. Pennsylvania Ave. A woman with blond hair, wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, entered the store and asked for cigarettes. She then stated, "give me the money" and threatened to shoot the cashier, according to a statement from police. The cashier gave up some cash. The woman fled from the store and got into a waiting car.
No one was hurt in either incident.
Lansing Police say they are obtaining surveillance video from the robberies, and that there is a "high probability that the two robberies are related." Anyone with additional information is asked to call 483-7867 or Detective Lee McCallister at 483-4611.
