BELLEVUE, EATON CO. - Zachary James Farkas has been identified as the man who was killed Sunday, when he was struck by a train in Bellevue, southern Eaton County. Farkas was 34-years-old and a resident of Bellevue.

Farkas was killed at the Main Street railroad crossing in Bellevue at approximately 4 o'clock Sunday morning.

The Eaton County Sheriff's Office is not releasing any further about the circumstances of Farkas's death, other than to say the accident remains under investigation.

 


 

All roads and railroad crossings in Bellevue are now clear after Sunday morning's deadly train accident.

A pedestrian near the Main Street crossing was hit and killed around 4:00 a.m.

Officials are trying to figure out if this was an accident or a suicide. Eaton County authorities tell us the victim, who has yet to be identified, was dragged for several blocks before the train was able to stop.

 


 

Railroad crossings in the Village of Bellevue were closed for hours early Sunday, after a train hit and killed a pedestrian.

It happened near the Main Street crossing. Eaton County authorities say the victim was dragged several blocks. The individual has not been named, so family members can be notified.

Drivers in the area should seek alternate routes. Sand Road is open.
