Playground Equipment Destroyed By Fire
A playground structure has been destroyed by an afternoon fire in Jackson.
Police say two 9-year-old boys were playing with matches at Partnership Park at about 3 p.m.
One of the boys apparently dropped a match, which caught the shredded rubber under the equipment on fire. The fire then spread to the plastic structure.
Jackson firefighters say the structure is a total loss, with damage estimated at $10,000.
No one was hurt.
