Moped Rider Strikes Deer, Dies in Accident

A Laingsburg man was killed while riding his moped Saturday morning.
The Shiawassee sheriff's office says the 56-year-old driver was going south on Shaftsburg Road in Middlebury Township when he collided with a deer.
He was airlifted to Sparrow where he later died. Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors.
The man was not wearing a helmet. Police are still investigating.
