Speed a Factor in Fatal Jackson Co. Accident
Michigan State Police investigators believe speed was a factor in an accident that cost a woman her life on Thursday afternoon. Shortly after 2 o'clock emergency crews responded to an accident on Base Line Road west of Earl Road in Henrietta Township.
The driver had been traveling westbound on Base Line Road when she lost control and crashed into a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene by rescue workers. Deputies say she was not wearing her seat belt. The driver is identified as 29-year-old Marcy Jean Winnie.
