Michigan National Guard Soldiers Return from Afghanistan
LANSING, MICH.- Friends and family welcomed home approximately 100 Soldiers from the 125th Infantry Battalion this morning around 7 a.m. at the Lansing Airport in Lansing Mich. The Michigan Army National Guard unit, based in Flint, is returning from a successful tour of duty in Afghanistan.
Today, more than 1,700 Michigan National Guard Soldiers and Airmen are deployed across the globe in support of the global war on terrorism. However, as the Michigan Guard serves the nation abroad, more than 95 percent of the force is available, trained and ready to respond to a state emergency, including a terrorist event.
