A new trend in running has some people "baring" it all - at least their feet. We're talking about barefoot running.

Some call it a great way to strengthen the calf and foot muscles. But one orthopedic specialist cautions: this style of running may not be for everyone.

"Your casual runner, weekend warrior, somebody who likes to do 5Ks twice a year, might not be the best person to jump right into barefoot running, because this type of running is very technique dependent," says Dr. Jason Nemitz.

Dr. Nemitz also says there is a risk of stress factures if you don't use the right technique. While he isn't against the idea of barefoot running, he says it should only done by experienced runners.
