The Holt man who went missing earlier this week during a training exercise with his two beagles has been found dead.

The body of 62-year-old Charles Gehringer was discovered in a wooded area by search crews around 10:30am Wednesday.

Police tell us Gehringer had a medical condition, that likely contributed to his death. They have no reason to suspect anything suspicious or foul play at this time.

Gehringer was last seen around 5:30pm Tuesday at the Mid-Michigan Beagle Club on Onondaga Road in Jackson County's Tompkins Township. He was conducting a training exercise with his two beagles when he never returned. Both dogs were found Tuesday night. The DNR, State Police and family and friends spent all day Wednesday searching the area for Gehringer.
