Lansing Neighborhoods Celebrating 'National Night Out'
National Night Out is an annual event held not only locally, but on a national level. The event was established in 1994 by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW). It was designed to heighten awareness, strengthen participation, and partnerships through the Community and the Police.
The Lansing Police Department believes strongly in this concept and promotes it. The words “Police and Community Partnerships for Progress & Excellence” can be seen on all city Police cars.
“National Night Out is a fantastic event! It clearly sends a message to the criminals that our neighborhoods are organized and work as partners with the Police,” said Chief Teresa Szymanski.
The Lansing Police Department would like to invite you to one of the many neighborhood groups throughout the city on “National Night Out”.
