An 18-year-old Lansing teen has been arrested following an early morning chase Tuesday.

A police officer saw a vehicle going twice the posted speed limit near Willow and Pine streets in Lansing. The officer followed the vehicle, but the driver sped off.

Due to slippery road conditions, the officer did not continue to pursue the vehicle, but tracked the license plate to a residence on the 1700 block of Donora Street, near Mt. Hope and Pennsylvania.

Officers went to the home and found the 18-year-old driver, who was arrested without incident, according to Lansing police Public Information officer Robert Merritt.

The driver told the officers he didn't stop because "he was driving on a suspended license and believed he had an outstanding arrest warrant."
