Wendy's Charity Classic Adoption Benefit Held in Jackson
This week, The Country Club of Jackson was host to the 12th annual Wendy's Charity Classic and 6th professional tournament featuring The Legends Tour, the Official Legends Tour of the LPGA.
On Sunday, August 12, the Wendy's Charity Challenge paired LPGA golfers, including local pro Elaine Crosby of Jackson. The Charity Challenge was followed by a benefit party and silent auction. Monday brought the pros and amateur golfers together for the Pro-Am.
The Wendy's Charity Classic gives its proceeds to Wendy's Wonderful Kids, a signature program of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
Wendy's Wonderful Kids recruiters, including Whitney Banks who was on hand for the event, work to get to know children who are waiting for a permanent home.
WWK makes a difference to hundreds of Michigan children and thousands nationally, matching over 3,000 children with their forever families.
Photos of children looking to be adopted were at each hole on the course at the Wendy's Charity Classic, which were sponsored by local businesses.
In past Classics, over $1,650,000 has been raised, helping to assist children in Michigan and Ohio who need permanent, loving homes.
Mark Behm, who has participated in the Wendy's Charity Classic since its inception and co-chairs with Elaine Crosby, says that while there is plenty of excitement surrounding the LPGA pros, the main focus is truly the children.
