Arrest in 2nd Reckless Shooting in Lansing in 2 Days
LANSING - For the second day in a row, Lansing police make an arrest involving what they say was the reckless firing of a gun.
On Tuesday night, shortly before 10 o'clock, police were called to an address in the 5700 block of Hughes Road. Witnesses say an intoxicated man was firing a gun into the air. Police arrived and saw the accused man in the front yard.
They say he ran from the officers, but was quickly captured. A long gun was recovered at the scene by police. The 19-year-old is expected to be charged Wednesday afternoon.
On Monday night Lansing police arrested a different 19-year-old man at an apartment building in the 2300 block of East Jolly Road. The teen's neighbors called police when a gun shot came through their wall. No one was hurt. Police went next door, found the semi-automatic handgun, and arrested the teen, Charles Marice Allen.
He is charged with careless discharge of a firearm, and possession of a firearm under the influence of alcohol.
