JACKSON - 10-15 years prison time is the sentence for a man who shot and killed a teenager in Jackson last year.

Jacob Ellis received his sentence Wednesday morning. He had been charged with the murder of 17-year-old Devion Jackson of Albion, but pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Shortly before 1AM, on May 1, 2011, Ellis fired shots into a car on Milwaukee Street in Jackson. Devion Jackson was a passenger in the car. He died days later. Ellis was not arrested until September.

The case's prosecutor says he was forced to seek the lesser manslaughter plea, because some witnesses were changing their story and being uncooperative.
