Did U.S. Women's Gymnastics Live Up to Hype?
Following an evening of devestation for world champion Jordyn Wieber, who missed qualifying for the all-around finals, the U.S. women's team banded together Tuesday to see if they could claim team gold.
It would be the second time in history - not since the Magnificent Seven accomplished it in Atlanta in 1996. With Jordyn's potentially broken spirit and a Russian team poised for potential upset, the result wasn't all too clear.
But in the end, it wasn't much of a contest. The U.S. women's gymnastics team easily took the team gold medal, scoring an overall 183.596 - five points ahead of Russia.
It's a sweet moment in the London games following a bittersweet Sunday.
Congratulations to Team USA!
