Annual 5K Raises Money for Grieving Children
A healthy crowd took to the streets Sunday morning for Ele's Race. The annual 5K raises money for Ele's Place, a healing center for grieving children.
One organizer said she's amazed by the power of the annual run.
"I look forward to it every year. It gives me goosebumps when those 1500 runners and walkers race by," said Ele's Place President/CEO Laurie Baumer. "But the bigger issue is they're here to support grieving children. They get it. There are so many families here that are racing today, and pushing strollers, all because they know how important this mission is to our community."
Also at the scene was a memory wall, where people could hang up photos and names of loved ones who had passed away.
