Police responded to reports of gun fire early Sunday morning on Mount Hope road in Lansing. When police arrived a black SUV fled the scene. Police later found the SUV in a rollover accident on Eaton Road.

Sgt. Traci Ruiz said four teens stole the SUV Friday. Sunday morning the teens had been shooting a pellet gun at an Lansing State Journal paper delivery man when Lansing Police were called about the incident. The shots were fired just after 5 a.m.

The man that called police followed the teens during his call to 911 to give the dispatch information on where the teens were going. The teens drove through several neighborhoods before crashing the SUV near Eaton and Greenlawn. The car is now totaled and the owner has been notified.

Lansing Police caught the teens. Initially two were sent to the hospital with injuries. One was released to his parents due to the injuries. The remaining three were taken into custody. All four teens went on a "crime spree" of retail fraud after they stole the vehicle.

Lansing Police suspect the same teens are responsible for several shots fired after midnight near Aurelius and Mt. Hope, although police have not yet confirmed that.
