Eight-Hour Standoff Ends in Aurelius Township
An eight-hour standoff in Aurelius Township is now over. Deputies with the Ingham County Sheriff's Office tell us it ended peacefully around 5:15 Thursday afternoon, when the gunman surrendered.
Deputies first got word of a domestic disturbance between a husband and wife around 10 a.m. Four people, later found to be related to the suspect, were being held inside. The were released around 1:15 Thursday afternoon. The gunman then barricaded himself in the home. It took a state police team hours before the gunman finally surrendered.
