The 13th annual Common Ground Music Festival has brought 90s alternative favorites, an Oscar-winning actor, country music's latest superstar, and one very special Idol.

Casey James, a finalist in the ninth season of "American Idol", brought his laid back country rock vibe to the Auto Value Main Stage at Common Ground Wednesday night.

Fittingly, the native of Cool, Texas earned plenty of female fans during his stint on the singing competition, and is currently touring the country to support his new self-titled album, "Casey James".

The country crooner appears in Michigan twice this month, and will also play the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville this coming weekend.

James tells us he still keeps in touch with his fellow Idol castmates, especially when he makes a stop in one of their hometowns while on tour.

The Idol experience certainly got his name and face out there, but with an album that features a majority of songs co-written by James himself, it's clear that he has a future in the current music scene. And that's something James hopes to continue in the future.

"I'm just lucky to be doing what I'm doing and I feel blessed to be doing it every day. So as long as I get out there and continuously do what I love to do, which is play music, I'm a lucky guy."
