Michigan Officials Use Bathrooms in Fight Against Drunk Driving
The fight against drunk driving is being taken to a surprising place.
Michigan officials are hoping to get drunk people off the road -- from bathrooms. They are distributing urinal cakes to various restaurants and bars. There's a recording on them, reminding men to call a cab or a friend to get home safely, if intoxicated.
"Make no mistake, all of our officers will be on the lookout for drunk drivers and with the extra patrols, they will be hard to miss. If you drive drunk, you will get arrested," said Chief Ralph Godbee of the Detroit Police Department.
About 400 of the urinal cakes are being given to two hundred restaurants and bars.
