The Detroit Tigers will have three representatives in the 2012 MLB All-Star Game in Kansas City next week.

First basemen Prince Fielder will start for the American League while Miguel Cabrera will be a reserve.

Justin Verlander was named to the AL pitching staff and it has yet to be determined if he will start in the game.

Centerfielder Austin Jackson was left off the list behind Mark Trumbo of the Angels.

Joaquin Benoit was also left off the All-Star list as a set-up man in the bullpen.  Set-up pitchers never receive much attention but with Benoit’s number, he truly deserves.

The Texas Rangers will send seven players, while the Yankees send four.

The game is on Tuesday, July 10th.
