MME Scores Rise Across State

Student achievement rose on the 2012 Michigan Merit Examination (MME).

The Department of Education says most districts saw gains in math, reading, writing and science.

The biggest gains were in reading (up 3%) and writing (up 2.5%).

There was a slight dip in social studies, dropping 0.7%.

The MME is given to 11th grade students each spring.
