Detroit Holding Hiring Fair for Veterans
Detroit is helping veterans get back into the work force.
A hiring fair at the Cobo Center runs through Thursday, and is being hosted by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
The conference brought in more than 100 coaches to help with resumes and the interview process. Over 200 corporations were represented at the conference, including Lansing-based Two Men and a Truck.
"We can teach people the operations to be a Two Men and a Truck manager, the ins-and-outs of moving, but we can't teach that leadership and it's so important to have and it's so hard to find," said Human Resourses rep Sara Bennett. "So veterans are a natural fit."
Two Men and a Truck is looking to fill about 200 positions.
