3 Arrested in Jackson Bank Robbery
JACKSON - Three suspects are arrested Tuesday afternoon, following a morning bank robbery in Jackson. Police got a description of the getaway van and Washtenaw deputies spotted the vehicle on I-94 near Metro airport.
The armed robbery took place at 11:30AM at the Citizens Bank at 1712 East Michigan Avenue in Jackson. Two men entered the bank, one showed a handgun and demanded money. Witnesses say the suspects left with the cash in a white pickup truck. Police found the pickup truck just blocks away, where witnesses say the two men got into separate vehicles. One vehicle was described as a purple minivan that had three other men inside and a female driver.
A detailed description of the suspect's van was sent to area police agencies. This afternoon police in Washtenaw County saw the van driving on I-94 and pulled it over. Details about he arrest and the suspect are not immediately available. Jackson police say three people in that van have been brought back to Jackson.
