"As a family, we've been waiting for Mr. Burton to slip up and make a mistake," said John Edmond, after hearing that Lavar Burton had been arraigned on six separate charges, Saturday, including possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver, felony possession of a firearm and driving with a suspended license - repeat offender.

Thursday, Lansing Police pulled Burton over in the 3200 block of South Washington Avenue where he was arrested for driving on a suspended license.

According to police, when they searched the vehicle, they found a loaded handgun and cocaine that looked packaged and ready to be sold.

Back in 2010, Burton accidentally shot and killed his stepdaughter, Amaia Edmond, when two men invaded his home.

Amaia's biological father, John Edmond, hopes to see Burton in prison.

"I'm hoping Mr. Burton goes to prison and that he sits down for a long time and has to think about all the things he has done in the past that have brought pain to my family," said Edmond.
