Lavar Burton, who accidentally shot & killed his stepdaughter during a 2010 home invasion, has been arrested on drug charges.

Burton was arrested during a traffic stop in the 3200 block of South Washington around 8:45pm Thursday. Lansing police tell us a loaded handgun and cocaine was found during a search of the vehicle.

The 34-year-old was arraigned Saturday on charges including possession with intent to deliver cocaine, felon in possession of a firearm, felony firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, driving on a suspended license - repeat offender and habitual 2nd offense.

Burton will be back in court in early July.

Back in July 2010, Burton accidentally shot and killed his stepdaughter Amaia Edmond during a home invasion at their home on Custer Avenue. He was not charged in her death.

Earlier this month, 2 men were sentenced on manslaughter charges after taking plea deals in connection with Amaia's death. D'Angelo Jordan was sent to prison for more than 22 years, while Jerry McKinney was sentenced to five to fifteen years behind bars.
