Accident Victim in Hospital with "Life-Threatening" Injuries
Lansing police are questioning the driver of a semi-truck following a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 496 Friday morning.
The victim was struck as he was walking along the highway and has been hospitalized with injuries that are described as "life threatening".
The accident happened in the eastbound lanes of 496 shortly after 4:30 a.m. Lansing police say the accident occurred near the Pennsylvania Avenue exit. Eastbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours.
The truck did not stop, but police say the driver and truck were located later.
A Lansing Police Department spokesman describes it as an "open investigation".
