Old Town's Scrapfest Competition, Silent Auction Highlight Festival Weekend
WHAT: The Old Town Commercial Association (OTCA) will host its fourth annual eco-friendly Scrapfest Competition. On June 9, 16 teams had one hour to collect scrap from Friedland Industries, one of Lansing’s oldest green businesses in the heart of Old Town. The following two weeks were used to make a masterpiece from the scrap. The sculptures will be put on display for a silent auction during Old Town’s Festival of the Moon and Festival of the Sun this weekend.
WHEN: The silent auction for the Scrapfest Sculptures will be during Old Town’s Festival of the Moon and Sun:
• Friday, June 22, from 6:00-11:00 p.m; and
• Saturday, June 23 from 2:00-8:30 p.m.
The judging of the artwork will take place on:
• Saturday, June 23 at 10 a.m.
The announcements of the winners will be:
• Saturday, June 23 at 4:30 p.m. during the Festival of the Sun.
WHERE: The silent auction will be held in Parking Lot 56 and Burchard Park on the corner of Grand River Avenue and Turner Street in Lansing’s Old Town.
