Lansing's GM Facility Celebrates Landfill-Free Status
GM not only makes a lot of cars in the area - they are now celebrating becoming "Landfill-free".
The Lansing Parts Distribution Center was celebrated Tuesday for becoming the car maker's 100th facility to achieve "landfill-free" status.
The company reduces waste and then focuses on recycling and reuse.
The parts plant also received "Energy Star" certification by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for reducing green house gas emissions.
