Lansing Man Charged with Vermontville Bank Robbery
37-year-old Ruben Raul Anzaldua was arraigned Wednesday on bank robbery charges. The Lansing man is accused of robbing an Independent Bank branch in Vermontville on Tuesday.
Investigators say a masked man walked into the bank shortly after 9 a.m. and demanded money. After taking the cash he fled the building and was seen by passersby getting into a car.
Eaton County sheriff's deputies spotted a car matching the getaway car's description less than two minutes after the robbery near Charlotte. Along with Charlotte police officers the car was stopped and Anzaldua was arrested without incident.
