Earth Day Celebrated in Lansing Area
The nice weather outside made the conditions perfect for Earth Day. Sunday was National Earth Day, and there were service projects throughout the community.
At Fenner Nature Center, the MSU Fisheries and Wildlife Club hosted an event. Activities included small mammal trapping, pond dipping, and wildflower and tree identification hikes.
And the Fenner Nature Center also hosted a Picnic for the Planet. It was an event where people tried to break the world record for the most people picnicking.
It was all part of the Guinness World Record attempt for having the greatest number of people picnicking worldwide in a 24 hour period.
This was the first time Fenner has participated.
