Years Added to Sentence for Byrum Plot
There are new details about the prisoner convicted in his second murder-for-hire plot.
Larry Taylor will now serve four-to-ten more years for plotting to kidnap and kill state lawmaker Barb Byrum last September. Baraga prison officials in the UP discovered the plot after intercepting a letter detailing Taylor's plan.
He was already serving a 50-year sentence on the same charge at the time.
Representative Byrum was at the sentencing to read her victim impact statement to the court. She says she owes a tremendous amount of gratitude to everyone involved in protecting and supporting her and her family, and is thankful to have closure.
