Runners, volunteers and organizers are busy preparing for this Sunday's first ever Lansing Marathon.

The inaugural 26.2 mile race is expected to draw more than 2,000 runners. The course starts and ends at the Capitol and winds its way through Lansing, East Lansing and the Potter Park Zoo.

The Lansing Marathon is a Boston qualifier, but the weekend also holds opportunity for those not ready for a full marathon.

A 1.5K kids race will be held Saturday, with the marathon, half marathon and 5K on Sunday.

Participants can also check out the Lansing Marathon's Health and Fitness Expo Saturday at the Cooley Law School Stadium Mezzanine.

The full marathon begins at 8 a.m.
