Lansing's Recycle-Rama
Ingham county residents got an early start to their spring cleaning Saturday, by tossing out any unwanted items at the "Recycle Rama" collection.
The event ran from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Ingham County Health Department.
You could recycle or donate for reuse the following items: books, bicycles, appliances/scrap metal, unwanted medicines, compact fluorescent light bulbs, mercury thermostats, mercury thermometers, cooking oil, electronics, household batteries, corks, eye glasses, fabric/yarn, Styrofoam and glass bottles/jars (including green glass).
"Recycle Rama" was open to anyone who has items for recycling, but Lansing Board of Water and Light customers can cash in on some extra savings. BWL customers can bring in dehumidifiers or air conditioners that are working but inefficient and receive a $15 rebate.
