The Ingham County Animal Shelter needs a little help for the holidays.

The shelter is closed between Christmas and New Years, and needs foster homes for all their cats and dogs during that time. Besides, it's also a great way to 'test run' having a pet in your family.

"This time of year is especially difficult. People are having to bring animals in because of hardships, because of the economic times. This way, you get to take them home for a little while, test run things, see if they're a good fit for your family. And then maybe get to keep them for the rest of their lives," says Katelyn Turner.

If you're interested in fostering a pet during the holidays, or if you're ready to adopt one into your family, call the Ingham County Animal Shelter in Mason.
