SANTA MONICA, Calif. and CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Lionsgate and Apple announced that movies from Lionsgate will be available for purchase and download on the iTunes Store. iTunes customers will be able to purchase films like "Terminator 2," "LA Story," "Basic Instinct," "The Blair Witch Project" and "Dirty Dancing" and more than 150 titles coming to iTunes this month.

The iTunes Store has a catalog of more than 400 titles.

Lionsgate's collection of movie titles available on iTunes in the coming weeks includes action adventure films and thrillers such as "Total Recall" and "Rambo," indie classics such as "Monster's Ball" as well as perennial favorites such as "Chaplin" and "The Boys From Brazil."

Movies purchased and downloaded from the iTunes Store can be viewed on a computer, Apple TV or fifth generation iPod, and most are priced at $9.99 each. Movies downloaded from the iTunes Store are downloaded in near-DVD quality at a resolution of 640x480.
