On Friday, November 16, the 28th annual Silver Bells in the City celebration will take place in the heart of the Capital City. Begin the season of giving by donating a toy at the Lansing Board of Water (BWL) and Light Toy Mill in downtown Lansing.

The goal of the effort is to fill the BWL Toy Mill with new, unwrapped toys to benefit the United States Marine Corps’ Toys-for-Tots toy drive. The Toy Mill will be located at the corner of
Washington Square and Ottawa St. Donations will be accepted the day of Silver Bells from noon until 9:00 pm. All members of the community are welcome to participate.

To highlight the Toy Mill donation center opening, there will be a press conference with the office of Mayor Virg Bernero, BWL General Manager J. Peter Lark, and Sgt. Brent Traskie of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve beginning at 12:00 (noon).  To ring in the season and assist the celebration, The Shabazz Student Choir will perform holiday songs immediately following the press conference.
