Final Preparations for Silver Bells in Lansing
Plenty of roads will be closed off today in downtown Lansing.
Crews will start reducing lanes and closing streets at 9:00 a.m. to prepare the area for the annual Silver Bells in the City celebration.
There's a whole lot going on for the celebration. The first-ever Silver Bells Run starts at five p.m. at the State Capitol. It's a three-mile run to benefit future Silver Bells events.
Then around six, the Electric Light Parade, with nearly 70 entries.
And finally, the state Christmas tree will be lit, followed by fireworks - weather permitting.
The star of Radio Disney will also be performing at the State Capitol. Cody Simpson hits the stage at 7:45 p.m. He'll be out at his tent on the Capitol lawn meeting his fans after the show.
The 'meet-and-greet' runs from 9:00 to 9:30 p.m.
