Detroit Lions Rank 16th in 2011 Power Rankings
According to both the Sports Illustrated and ESPN NFL Power Rankings, the Detroit Lions are ranked 16th amongst the National Football League's 32 teams.
The Lions are coming out of a strong showing in the preseason, going 4-0 in impressive wins, including their dominance over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
Fans are more than hyped about this season, as shown by the media buzz and Ford Field sellouts, but this year it is quite possible that the team will live up to the hype.
The Lions begin their regular season at Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers on September 11.
