New High-Tech Movie Watching Comes to Lansing
This is some of the smartest movie-going technology available anywhere, said Dan Boyer, General Manager for Celebration! Cinema. We are completely thrilled to bring D-BOX to Lansing.
The theatre has installed 26 D-BOX seats. D-BOX uses 3 types of movement (subtle pitch, roll and heave) to move you gently forwards and backwards, from side to side and up and down. Combine that with D-BOX's intelligent vibrations and it all comes together to create the most amazing, all-encompassing entertainment experience ever. D-BOX is currently available at Celebration! Cinema locations in Grand Rapids and Portage. D-BOX seats in those locations sell out regularly.
"We work hard at having something for everyone", Boyer added. "Our IMAX theatre delivers the most immersive movie experience in the world, 3D digital continues to be popular with customers and now D-BOX offers something for movie-goers that want their story told to them using multi-sensory technology." It's a really fun time to be in movies.
D-BOX Motion effects are the new art form, a multi-sensory revolution of the film industry. Action becomes motion. Sound becomes motion. Scenes become motion. D-BOX Motion Designers can create an infinite number of movements and intelligent vibrations, from the most explosive to the most subtle.
Special Review from FOX 47:
The new Reserved DBox seats at Celebration Cinema provide you with a multi-sensory treat! From the moment Jack the Giant Slayer "landed" on the screen, it was rumble, shift and sway throughout.
The DBox seats are a perfect way to experience a full out action movie! I literally felt I was immersed in the action. While I watched a 2D version ....I can only anticipate what it would be like watching a 3D movie in the DBox seats. Wouldn't it be great to see Days of Thunder or Top Gun in a DBox seat? These new seats will totally transform any action movie experience. -Don Garchow
