CMU Student Raped, Suspect Fatally Shot by Police
A terrifying ordeal out of Central Michigan University, where a student was kidnapped and raped Wednesday night, January 16th. Police report that after the woman escaped, the suspect, Ramsey, 30, led police on a chase that ended in Crawford County.
The suspect’s vehicle was reported to have slammed into a Michigan State Police Trooper vehicle before again fleeing the scene and, according to the Sheriff’s Department, stealing a truck and hitting a Crawford County Deputy’s patrol car. The deputy got out of the car, ran up to the suspect’s truck and fired shots, fatally wounding and killing the suspect.
It is being reported that Eric L. Ramsey, 30, had a criminal background and violent history.
