Ann Arbor Police are investigating a disturbing, now viral, video of a University of Michigan student going off on an Uber driver.

The video, posted by Artur Zawada, shows who the Michigan Review identified as Jake Crowman, using profane language and calling the driver names.

"Yeah, f--k you, Artur, you little f---ot f--k. You wanna kick me off? Kick me off you little piece of s--t. You're an Uber driver, go f----ing drive you little f--k. Minimum wage f---ot. Go f--k yourself," Crowman said in the video.

He also can be heard boasting about having and spending a lot of money while degrading  the driver.

It is not clear what exactly sparked the scolding, but according to the Detroit Free Press, the student claims the Uber driver made an offense comment first.

You can see the video below. (WARNING: The video does obscene profane language)

The student is a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity on the U-M Ann Arbor campus.  Members at the frat house had no comment. The national organization released this statement:

Tau Kappa Epsilon has begun our investigation into the video which allegedly contains one of our members. We are extremely disappointed by the individual's demeaning words. As an organization founded on the personal worth and character of the individual, our members come from a wide range of diverse backgrounds of race, creed, and orientation. At the conclusion of our swift, thorough investigation, we will handle the situation with appropriate action. Depending on the details of the investigation, this could include the expulsion of membership.

The university released its own statement:

“We find the actions depicted in this video to be reprehensible and completely inconsistent with our community’s closely held values. We expect more from members of the U-M community. Regardless of the circumstances, no one deserves to be treated that way.”

According to the university, they are waiting for the police report to be finished before they consider their next steps.

The Dean of Students met with both the Uber driver and the student last week. The Uber driver could not be reached at this time.

7 Action News tried to contact Uber. They did not return our calls.

A spokesperson for the Crowman family released this statement:

"This video shows one side of an argument I had with an Uber driver two weeks ago after he refused to pick me up on the basis of my religion. What you don’t see in the video is that the driver had made a number of offensive anti-semitic remarks that provoked my response. I am not proud of my reaction to his discrimination and I regret my choice of words. Shortly after the verbal altercation, I filed a complaint with the Ann Arbor police department and they are now dealing with the issue.”
