A township in Michigan's Thumb region has agreed to make local government more accessible to people with disabilities.
Dayton Township in Tuscola County has signed an agreement with the U.S. Justice Department. Some township business apparently is conducted out of homes. The federal government says those homes need to be accessible to all people.
Township officials must take online training. Officials might have to make home visits to residents if necessary or conduct some public business at a different site.
Dayton Township has a population of less than 2,000. It is roughly 40 miles northeast of Flint.
