Toddler dead after drowning in large neighborhood pond

A 21-month-old boy has died after drowning in a large neighborhood pond.

It happened on the 12000 block of Warm Creek Drive in Watertown Township around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

The Clinton County Sheriff Department tells us family members found the toddler in the pond, pulled him out, and immediately performed CPR.

Nearby neighbors also assisted in those recovery efforts.

The toddler was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

City of Dewitt Police, the Delta Township Fire Department, and Clinton County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene.
