To make senior residents feel more at home, “homes for the aged,” will now have the ability to obtain liquor licenses.

Gov. Rick Snyder signed Senate Bill 885, which allows “homes for the aged,” which is defined as a supervised facility that provides room, board and supervised personal care to 21 or more individuals 60 years old or older, access to obtain a liquor license.

“This bill helps ensure that those serving Michigan’s aging population are given more opportunities to offer products and services that help their residents feel more at home,” Snyder said.
