Police say a bicyclist in Jackson was hit by a vehicle when crossing the street on a bike path, Thursday night.

Jackson Police Department Deputy Chief Elmer Hitt said the man did not remember much from the hit-and-run, but the description of the vehicle is a sky blue passenger car.

The 51-year-old bicyclist was struck at about 9:45 p.m., at the bike trail crossing in the area of Fourth Street and Park Road. The vehicle did not stop after hitting the man.

The bicyclist was able to walk home, and then went to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital, Hitt said. Police were notified of the hit-and-run by hospital personnel around 3:45 a.m., Friday.
