One injured in apartment shooting, suspect in custody

Police officers responded to the scene of a shooting in Blackman Township.

Just before 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29 officers were dispatched to Granada Drive in Blackman Township.

They found a 24-year-old male with a single gun-shot wound to the upper thigh. He was transported to Henry Ford Allegiance Health and is expected to survive.

The suspect, a 22-year-old male was an acquaintance of the victim and had fled the scene.

Neither the suspect nor the victim lived at the Granada Apartments Complex. They are both residents of the City of Jackson.

At 7:30 p.m. detectives located the suspect and he was taken into custody without incident.

Detectives believe they know the motive for the shooting, but specifics will not be released at this time.
