New splash pad in Jackson set to open near end of month

The Jackson County Parks Department has set an opening date for the new splash pad being constructed at Cascades Park.

According to the department's website, construction is on schedule for the new Splash Pad at The Cascades to be open on Friday, June 23.

The project is being constructed just outside where the south entrance to the Cascades currently exists.

The finished product will include above-ground water spray features and a zero-depth surface that will be suitable for children of all ages.

Hours of operation will be 11am - 7pm Monday through Saturday and 12pm - 6pm on Sundays. Extended hours of 11am - 9pm will happen on Wednesday nights, which is Family Night at the Cascades. Regular Cascade admission rates will take effect at 7pm. On nights that fireworks are scheduled, the regular admission rate will take effect at 6pm.

Admission rates will be $2 for kids ages 4 & up and adults. Kids ages 3 and under can get in for free. Season passes will also be available. An individual season pass will cost $20, while a Family season pass will cost $75. The family season pass is limited to 2 adults and up to four children 18 years of age and under living in the same household.
